چکیده

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is an interesting model for cancer research because of the presence of the specific PML-RARa fusion gene associated with the clinical response t o retinoic acid differentiation therapy. To better understand and improve differentiation induction with retinoic acid, we have established a human APL-ascites model in SCID mice using the NB4 human APL cell line. NB4 (1 x 10’ cells) were transplanted into the peritoneum (IP) of SCID mice for 1 month. NB4 ascites cells (A-NB4) appeared, which were then engrafted in SClD mice periodically for 18 passages at an interval of 3 to 4 weeks with a 100% success rate of tumor induction. The mean survival times of SClD mice transplanted with 1 x lo8 A-NB4 cells was 21.6 5 2.3 days. Analysis of the biologic characteristics of ninth passage NB4 ascitic cells was performed and they were found to have the

Large Deformation Characterization of Mouse Oocyte Cell Under Needle Injection Experiment

In order to better understand the mechanical properties of biological cells, characterization and investigation of their material behavior is necessary. In this paper hyperelastic Neo-Hookean material is used to characterize the mechanical properties of mouse oocyte cell. It has been assumed that the cell behaves as continuous, isotropic, nonlinear and homogenous material for modeling. Then, by...

Description of a new xenograft model of metastatic neuroblastoma using NOD/SCID/Il2rg null (NSG) mice.

In order to develop a relevant xenogenic animal model of neuroblastoma (NB), we compared the tumorigenicity and metastatic potential of SK-N-SH and SK-N-DZ NB cell lines in nude mice and NOD/SCID Il2rg null (NSG) mice. Subcutaneous injection of cell lines induced tumor formation only in NSG mice and was accompanied by metastasis to the liver, adrenal glands, skull and bone marrow. NSG mice inje...

Combination of In Vivo Cryptorchid Testis and In Vitro Co- Culture System to Obtain High Purification and Proliferation of Mouse Spermatogonial Stem Cells

Background The present study was designed to evaluate the survival and proliferation of spermatogonial stem cells from cryptorchid mouse testis in co-culture system over a 3 weeks period. MaterialsAndMethods Sertoli and spermatogonial cells were isolated from bilateral cryptorchid mouse model testes. Isolated spermatogonial cells were co-cultured with Sertoli cells in minimal essential medium (...

O-1: Effects of Recipient Mouse Strain, Sex and Gonadal Status on the Outcome of TestisTissue Xenografting

Background: The aim of the present study was to examine factors that may affect the outcome of testis tissue xenografting. Recipient factors were examined by grafting small fragments of testis tissue from newborn piglets under the back skin of immunodeficient mice of different strains [severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) vs. nude), sex (male vs. female) and gonadal status (intact vs. gonade...
